It doesn't matter what your religion or political agenda we all hate cancer and love motorcycles. With that in mind make your way down to Brewtown Sunday 11 October. All proceeds go to supporting local cancer initiatives.
Riders Against Cancer have been stepping out and helping our communities since 2021. RAC combines a love of motorcycles, riding and socialising with others who want to raise money for the local Cancer Society to help those on their cancer journey.
The Wellington branch was started in 2004 with 7 members and has grown to over 50 strong. They ride every Sunday (weather permitting) to a cafe or restaurant for a meal together and socialising. You don't have to be a member to come along.
The rides are "sensible rides", certainly not hard out and all riders are welcome, whatever bike you ride.
The shared interest in bikes and the cancer cause has created a strong core group of friends. Many members have cancer stories of their own and are happy to share and offer support. Like most Kiwis, almost all members know someone who has lived a cancer journey.
With 4 branches across Aotearoa, Riders Against Cancer (RAC) are out there making a difference. They are a supportive group who ride and run events to raise funds for cancer-related causes, helping to ease that burden wherever possible.
All money raised from the show-n-shine goes to the Wellington Cancer Society, and is earmarked for a a project that will directly benefit those on a cancer journey.
The rider community is invited to come along to make the Show-n-Shine event a huge success and show the public what we do. But dont just go along, register and put your bike in the event (Pre-registion is only $25, or register on the day for $30). You might just go home with a trophy for best bike , and even if you don't, you can go knowing you're helping those with cancer.
