While there the entire team was treated to some massive days of sightseeing, motorcycle touring, awesome food and a very rare factory visit and tour of the motorcycle factory in Hamamatsu.
Day one in Tokyo included a visit to the fish market to try the awesome street food available, along with a trip to the Shibuya Sky tower. That evening was a treat driving street karts around Shibuya. It’s a pretty cool experience to be driving the streets of Tokyo, amongst the traffic in go-karts and everyone had a blast.
From there the crew got aboard their new Suzuki hire bikes courtesy of Moto Tours Japan. The fleet included GSX-S1000GX, GSX-8TT and DL800DE models and the riding was SUPERB! Two days of touring the peninsula. From tight, winding mountain roads with perfect surface to small Japanese villages, winery tours and a special trip to Fuji Motor Speedway where they visited the new Fuji Motorsport Museum. Every experience was a cracker and the hospitality as amazing at every visit.
Following days included bullet train trip to Hamamatsu and a visit to Suzuki Plaza to take in the immense amount of history the Suzuki brand enjoys. Seeing the early bikes and cars alongside the great 500GP and MotoGP bikes was really cool and it was very apparent just how much pride everyone at Suzuki takes in the brand and its amazing heritage.
We’re very thankful to Suzuki New Zealand for the opportunity and the experience and I can’t wait to get to Japan for some more of the amazing culture and motorcycle riding available.
