Round two of the AMCC Club Champs was raced under perfect blue skies at Hampton Downs last Sunday. TSS Motorcycles supported riders all had a great day and enjoyed some thrilling bar-to-bar racing.

Keiran Mair double-classed, in his usual Formula 2 class aboard his KTM RC8 C and testing his brand-new Triumph Daytona 660 in the Sport Bike class. The decision to race the Triumph was made at the last minute following a successful test only the day before and the results were encouraging. Despite the bike not yet being fully set up for racing, Keiran managed to qualify 4th  amongst the 32 strong field and complete all four races in 4th place with some great battles along the way.

In Formula 2 a small technical issue meant he had to qualify on the Daytona amongst Formula 1 and Formula 2 spec bikes. Despite being up to 100hp down on the surrounding machines, Keiran qualified 18th out of the 30 entries, 8th of the 15 F2 bikes. During the four races Kerian managed to move forwards substantially in each, finishing 13th, 13th, 9th and 12th overall and recording 5th, 5th, 3rd and 4th in class to gain 3rd overall for the day.

Nixon Frost stormed his way to qualify 2nd in the Sport Bike field on his Suzuki GSX-8R and despite an unfortunate DNF in Race 1, he was the only rider able to challenge class winner Cameron Leslie all day. The pace between these two was frantic all the way to the line with Nixon finishing 2nd in each of  the remaining races.

Billy MacRae from New Plymouth had his first ever experience in the super competitive 300 Super Sport field and instantly impressed. From a 6th place qualifying position, Billy finished 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and a small tip off in the last race earned him a DNF.

Madix Hill continued to improve in his first season on his KTM RC390. Qualifying 5th in 300 Super Sport he came home to record a DNF, then 8th, 8th and 4th.

The series concludes at Hampton Downs November 15th and all the TSS Motorcycles riders will be hoping to continue their strong form for a great finish before ripping straight into the Suzuki International Series in December.
